I saw a red leaf today–an oddity in the first week of July. It was out of place, sitting beneath a conifer tree without a deciduous tree or plant anywhere around to account for its presence. At first I thought the wind might have carried it during the night, but upon closer inspection, I was surprised to find it connected by a stem and growing amidst the daisies. It struck me that the leaf wasn’t only out of place, but also out of season.
Are you out of season?
Are you trying to move before it’s time?
Are you behind?
Does being out of season make you unique or out of place? Both?
Today’s prompt is two-fold. First, find something out of place or out of season and recreate it in your own artistic way. Tell us your thoughts. Do you identify with it? Does it remind you of something or someone?
