Rabbi

“Ever since I returned from a trip to Israel a couple years ago, I’ve had a painting of the Western Wall in my heart that just wouldn’t come through my brush.  You could say it was stuck.  Instead of seeing an image, I was feeling emotion; instead of hearing a Word, I sensed Spirit.  How could I paint that?

This November something beautiful happened on the canvas.  I started painting a Jewish Rabbi under a tallit –a prayer shawl–in front of the Western Wall. Normally, you see people from the back as they face the Wall, but this Rabbi was in profile and I realized it was Yeshua!  That’s when I finally saw what I had been feeling.  It was all there– the heart, the spirit, and the emotion, captured in one moment where a Jewish boy wearing a kippah turns from facing the rock wall to embrace the Rock Himself.  A Jewish son clinging to God’s Jewish Son.

This is the beginning of the Season of Awakening God told me is coming to Israel, Jordan, and much of the Middle East starting this year.”
